The Amish community has always been a people that lived a simple life. The “American way” is quite unlike the Amish in that nothing is what it appears, regardless of socio-economic level. So, it came as quite a surprise to me, a couple of months ago, when I had seen an advertisement for an Amish fireplace. When did this community allow such entrepreneurial, unorthodox pursuits? The era of easy-credit has enveloped many innocent victims, i.e. Iceland, but I would never have guessed that the Amish people could fall prey to such desires. It seems as though easy money knows no faith.
