R.I.P. Richard Holbrooke

I met Richard Holbrooke after a speech he made at the Racquet and Tennis Club in New York on May 1, 2008. After speaking to him, he felt I should be a diplomat. Quite a compliment. Lesson learned: He wasn’t comfortable if he wasn’t controlling the conversation and wasn’t comfortable if he wasn’t controlling you.
