It depends on what message Twitter or any company is trying to convey. Simply put, the presence of a color is a cue as to the product. In this case, the Twitter platform.
If Twitter chose:
– Black – Black conveys a sense of artistry and sensitivity. This is an image that Twitter can stand behind. However, there is more to the story. Black also conveys the idea that a company does not share information easily. I doubt a company that has been dubbed the ‘CNN of the 21 Century’ would care for such a color.
– White – The message that is conveyed is that the company is organized and logical. Additionally, white gives a sense that clutter is not a major component of a company. Jack Dorsey makes clean products.
I go with White.
